We provide engaging K-12 classes & electives for homeschool families in Thurston County. Our tutors & community make hard-to-teach subjects fun & interactive, so you & your children can learn & thrive together!
Our Programs
Compass Electives
Tuesdays and or Wednesdays
Ages 5-18
1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Electives enhance morning academics by providing opportunities for students to explore interests & make friends.
Students choose elective classes. Each class is $40 per 5-week long session unless otherwise stated.
Past options have included: Robotics, Art, PE, LEGO Challenges, Spanish, Theatre, Woodworking and more!
Elective options & schedules vary each session by age & availability.
How It Works

Classes meet weekly on Wednesdays
at Olympia/Lacey Campus
At Grace Community Covenant Church Wiggins Rd.
( K-12th) for 30-weeks.
Programs run Sept 2024 to May 2025
Times vary by program & class.
Community lunch & recess is from noon-1:00 PM followed by optional Compass Program classes.
Over 16 High School Classes are offered all day.

Basecamp: $699 per student for 30 weeks (early bird price)

Traverse: $799 per student for 30 weeks (early bird price)

Ascent 1 or 2 (FULL- Waitlist started): $899 per student for 30 weeks (early bird price)

Interested in Joining Summit?
1. Learn
Read the Program Descriptions and Fees, including our Statements of Faith and Religious Purpose. Familiarize yourself with the Summit Policies Handbook. Our program directors would love to answer any further questions you have.
2. Apply-New Family
Ensure that you and your children agree with our Statements of Faith and Religious Purpose, will abide by our policies, and will enforce them with your students. If you have decided SHC is an option for your family, complete the Summit Application.
3. Visit Campus, Information Meeting and Interview
Once you have applied, sign up for an information meeting (click for dates) and one of our Program Directors will schedule a family interview and community visit with you, if we are still in session. After this meeting, SHC will notify you of your admission status.

4. Enroll
Upon acceptance, you may begin the course enrollment process:

Links for the enrollment form with non-refundable deposit payment will be sent to you by e-mail. Please be prepared to share which volunteer jobs (as stated in the handbook) you would like to sign up for and enter them at the prompt on the online deposit form. After the deposit is paid, you will be invited to our BAND app Page where you can view and join upcoming summer park days and field trips.

All tuition and fees must be paid in full by July 15, 2024. You must make all payments through the Omella payment platform. With Omella, you may choose to pay in full, or select a payment plan. Payment plans cost a little more to cover the Omella platform processing fees.
5. Join
Your family’s journey with SHC has just begun! To make the most of our community, join our groups on the BAND app. We can send you invitations to the appropriate groups via text or email. There you can see our active calendar of events, connect with other families, and sign up to host or attend upcoming activities, including summer park days and more. All our program communications will be posted in the BAND app throughout the year.
6. Prepare
Purchase all the required materials for your students’ programs and classes. Each program description (here) lists what is needed for both students and parents. Web links to the publishers are included so that you can learn more about each product. However, you are encouraged to shop around for bundles, sales, and used materials, if available.

PAYMENTS
A non-refundable deposit is required to reserve each student's seat in each class:

$150 for each Basecamp, Traverse, or Ascent student

$50 for each Summit Seekers class

Full payment required for Compass elective classes
Deposits are paid through an Omella Platform Payment Link. Your Director will send the link to you, or you may access after joining the Summit BAND Platform Pages under the Important Notices section. You may finalize all payments through the Omella Balance Link.
Parents will receive an invoice via email to pay the remaining balance or set up a monthly payment plan that can be set up 4 months prior to July 15th.
Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable, but will be applied towards each student's total tuition & fees.
Payment Deadlines:

Returning Families
Enrollment for returning families begins March 1st 2024.

Pay non-refundable deposits for each student you are enrolling. Deposit to hold your spot is due by March 22nd. New families will be filling spots after this date.

COMMUNITY
Our families love to have fun together! We enjoy field trips, park days, hikes, theater shows, orchestra sing-alongs, family festivals, mom’s nights out, mom's retreats, & more! Make sure you join our Field trip and Marketplace Band Communication Platform after you enroll.
PARENT INVOLVEMENT
We love your presence in our community!
In Basecamp & Traverse, parents accompany students in-class to learn together & reinforce material throughout the week at home.
Students in Ascent & Summit Seekers may be dropped off, and we request 2 parent volunteers in each class.
For afternoon elective classes, students may be dropped off, and parents must volunteer 2 times per quarter.
