Service Description
Calling all Thespians! Come join us in the art of stage acting! Whether you're new to the stage or a seasoned actor - someone who prefers behind-the-scenes or loves to be centerstage - this class is for you. In-class activities and exercises are designed to teach and improve acting skills as we prepare for live performances. We will introduce the nuts and bolts of technical theatre – from props, costumes and makeup (yes, even for the guys) to sound effects, stage effects and lighting. Student will have the opportunity to rehearse and perform or provide technical support through props, costumes, set, lights, sound, etc. ATTENDANCE: Student must attend ALL classes for this session. To meet our performance schedule, each class is essential time to rehearse and get technical things prepared. Please plan for at least 2 evening performances and extra rehearsals the week prior to each performance. ***Due to the nature of this class, after-school and evening rehearsals/technical work will be required the week prior to performances. The extent of this time will be dictated solely by the preparedness of the students for their performances. Dates and times will be announced as far in advance as possible. This class is offered during fall and spring semester. Students may participate in both sessions. Each session will culminate in a performance.
